On mine, it's to the left of the subject after I click on General Board. If there are no new messages, there's no button.

Judi, if there are new posts in a thread, the General Board page should look like this (sorry in advance for the hugeness!) The blue button to the left of the thread title is the New button. If you click that, it will take you straight to the most recent posts.

thanks. how did you find that out? i put the cursor over it and it didn't say it was anything. I just tried it, because it looked similar to the "go to most recent posts" button used on the other board I frequent. That's just a white arrow on a blue background, but in the same place, so I figured it would do the same thing and it did. Some days there's nothing like brute strength and ignorance as long as you're not in admin fix it mode.

So, it looks like Mom is going to move to assisted living in a week. She'll be in a respite care room so we can see if it works for her before we have to furnish it and permanently settle her in. Tomorrow I meet with all the pertinent people at her facility to talk it all over. She's very nervous about it since she has so much more trouble moving around than she used to, but I think she'll be okay. They're going to start out with six hours a day of additional nursing care, even though she'll probably need less. We'd all rather start with too much than too little.

is there REALLY no way to get to page two without typing it into to the "go to page x" slot? i used the "new" button and it took me to the top of page 1!
anyway... in answer to your quesiton, insom, i guess i will be moving wherever the rest of the people move. i['m sorry that we won't be having lunch on the bay, any more, but other than that i don't think it will probably be a huge difference. maybe even be better for me, if it's closer to home... probably it won't be, though!
