The standard disclaimer being "Do not enter if your feelings are easily hurt" Apparently there are thread title length limits.
Get serious!

Heck, I barely have feelings, much less any that are easily bruised.
I agree about the celebrating, Kaffy.
bin Laden deserved to die; he was a nasty evil terrible man. If I'd been in the president's shoes, I would have issued the order to kill him. But I don't feel right about celebrating any death.
Also I don' like the attention it brings to him and his organization. The ultimate insult would be to just announce the event and move on.

I've seen this posted on several friends' walls today. From a man who is far more eloquent than I will ever be: "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." ~ Martin Luther King, Jr

i think that is not actually a quote by MLK..., i saw it on someone else's fb page, that there was a quote going viral that was NOT by MLK but was being attributed to him. just fyi

Apparently, it's only partially quote by MLK. The initial sentiment is by the original poster of the status update and when it was quoted, the whole quote was attributed to MLK. Everything from "Returning hate for hate..." is attributable to Dr King.

Holy holy crap. I always liked Dilbert and thought that what I'd read of Scott Adams' writing was funny and insightful. Then I saw these today: a recent blog post where he claims that rape (among other things) is a male instinct and "well, you wouldn't blame any other animal for following its instincts, would you?" dilbert.com/blog/entry/pegs_and_holes/has and a link to a deleted but cached post (ah, internet cache, you are a cruel but honest bitch) where he compares giving women equal pay to giving into a child's demands for candy or dealing with a mentally handicapped person www.comicsalliance.com/2011/03/25/scott-adam-sexist-mens-rights/ I find myself going off Dilbert and Mr Adams rather quickly.

OMG. I'm sharing this on Facebook. I'm terribly, terribly disappointed in him.

I never cared for Dilbert, but nothing in that rather bland comic made me think Scott Adams might be...er..."this way." If this is a play for publicity and attention, its rather an ill-conceived one. If its meant to be irony or some sort of joke, it's even more ill-conceived.

that is crazy. i can't believe it. asked some of the younger female reporters here if they'd heard about it and they hadn't. wow. a complete media frenzy over Palin being stupid and nobody seems to care about legitimately evil remarks like this.

Yeah, he nailed it pretty well.
I note that PZ Meyers is a prof at U of Minn Morris, from which my nephew recently matriculated.
