Hello? Anyone?
I'm sticking my head in because I suggested this place to the Moaties who are losing their current abode and I felt like I should probably make a bit of an effort to show up myself.
*grabs duster and rags, heads off to clean the place out*

As near as I can tell, I'm the only one here.
I actually check it every week day. Nice to hear from you !
(I'll think of something clever to say in a bit - I'm out of practice)

I wouldn't want to tax you!
I was checking it semi-regularly. I miss y'all but most of us don't seem to be here.
How are you and the lovely Mary?

Lovely Mary remains lovely; I continue to maintain my extreme bjørnishness. We recently kayaked for the first time in either of our combined 112 years, and had so much fun we're thinking about becoming outdoorsy-sorts.
The quiet here is positively lunar, in contrast to the noise here which used to be lunatic.
But until they actually shut us down, I'll continue to check in every day out of habit, so a message will always reach me here.
Are you still in London or back in NZ? I'm afraid I've forgotten (assuming of course that I ever knew . . .)

Neither! I'm in East Sussex. The family I worked for moved away from London, but I still go back to London quite regularly. Overall, life is pretty good, but whizzing by at far too rapid a pace to appreciate it fully. I haven't been kayaking in years. The one thing I do remember is that I've managed to fall out every single time I've gone. I should do it again. I could probably do with another bath

Sussex! We spent two weeks in Winchelsea (just south of Rye) in June of 2000. My parents took the whole family there for their 50th anniversary. Beautiful country, lots of history (I know; you know this). What town exactly? if you don't mind mentioning.

It's a teeny tiny village whose name I won't mention because it really would be about five minutes' of door-knocking before you found me, it's that tiny. It's in the Crowborough/Heathfield/Uckfield area, if you want to look up the general area.

HI BJORN!!! *waves madly* Please come over to Facebook. We have lots and lots of fun there. You could just have the two of us as friends and tell stories and have punny wordplay antics. SO worth it.

Hi Sharon !!!! *wiggles ears*
Good to see you (figuratively, or metaphorically, or whatever this is). I sort of took a vow when I joined the CCC (cantankerous curmudgeon club) that I would never visit facebook (also, until recently it was blocked by our network administrator). But what the heck; (some) vows were meant to be broken. If you'll send me a link or an invite or tell me what to do (will I have to register?), I'll come visit. I make no promises as to how much time I'll have - the giddy days of yore can be nostalged* over, but cannot return.
That said I do miss the giddy days of yore.
* (not a word)

Just go to facebook.com - no invite needed. You do have to register, but you can also invent a reasonably looking fake name for your profile if you wish to play without putting too much info out there. Lots of the cool kids are playing there - judi, Bodi, Rayne, TonyB, Imelda, Mike n Mad (and their lovely little mini one), Kay, Leetie and of course Sharon and myself ... there are more too, but it's 3am and my mind is drawing a blank. To add friends, you can search for them by name or if you have their FB profile you can find them that way. This link will find me and you can click the "add friend" button at the top of the page www.facebook.com/brycanthe . I will poke Sharon and get her to come back and post or PM you her linkie - she's in Chicago this weekend visiting her mom*. I'll probably take mine down in a few days so it can't be found by anyone who clicks onto this board. *Long story short, the DragonMom collapsed in O'Hare a few weeks ago. Admission to hospital and tests revealed a slow-growing tumour that had finally pressed on a nerve too far. It's been removed but DragonMom is still in Chicago in a rehab/physio programme, breathing flames, kicking butt and learning how to walk again. She's doing amazingly well.

Also, if you search for "Dragonwriter" on Facebook you should find me! I warn you, however, you might get very sick of seeing me post pictures of my adorable husky puppy.
